Mission
The LGBTQIA+ Commission (formally known as GLBTA) of the Minnesota College Professionals Association serves as a resource to the MCPA Board of Directors in assuring that issues and concerns specific to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and ally members and individuals are included and addressed by MCPA. The LGBTQIA+ Commission will achieve this goal by promoting awareness through education.
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, & Asexual Commission strives to provide inclusive and visible educational spaces. We find it important to clarify that the identities within our acronym do not represent the queer community in its entirety, but we made efforts to make commonly invisible communities more visible. The + within our acronym denotes the fluid spectrum of voices within the community.
